Alex Ning was born 1952 in Hong Kong and came to Canada at age of 18. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Urban Land Economics Program and has carried on the practice as a British Columbia notary since 1983. He has served on the Discipline and Complaints Committee of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver for three years, the City of Vancouver Family Court Committee (four years) and the city’s Youth Justice Committee (two years); he is a past Zone Chairman of Lions Club International and a past Vice Chair of the Discipline Council of the former regulator of immigration consultants.
As a BC notary he is involved in contracts, land transfers and mortgages, leases, wills and estates and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in legal matters. He is also a Chartered Mediator and holds a Justice Institute of British Columbia Certificate in Conflict Resolution; he is a past director of the UBC Law Student Conflict Resolution Society and is a current mentor in the Court Mediation Practicum Program.
He is on the British Columbia Mediators Roster for Supreme Court mediations and on the Provincial Court Civil Roster. He is a mediator for the Better Business Bureau of Greater Vancouver, Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and on the General Insurance Ombudservice Roster for Western Canada.
He has also acted as arbitrator on commercial arbitrations involving business and lease disputes. He is accredited by the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia as a property valuator.
He is a graduate of the Seneca/UBC Certificate Program. Alex’s preferred immigration practice area has evolved from business immigration to tribunal advocacy, he has appeared before all the divisions of the IRB, and has represented clients in interviews and inquiries at both CIC and CBSA.
