Caroline Christiaens is a retired immigration lawyer with over 30 years’ experience with the federal government.

Caroline has served as an immigration officer, Minister’s counsel, immigration adjudicator, legal advisor to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, and senior counsel at the Department of Justice Canada. As an adjudicator, Caroline made decisions on the credibility of refugee claims. She has also appeared in front of the Federal Court on challenges to Refugee Protection Division decisions.

In addition to presenting at Continuing Legal Education Society courses, Caroline has provided training to immigration officers, Canada Border Services Agency officers, lawyers, and members of the Immigration and Refugee Board.
