Karen is a law student at UBC. She decided to go to law school because she is very interested in immigration and refugee issues, and hopes to practice in that area.

Karen has been learning and gaining experience in this area. She has taken on a variety of immigration files through the Law Students' Legal Advice Program, had a summer position at the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society, and has been volunteering at the Migrant Workers Centre.

Karen completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, concentrating in intercultural studies, at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg. She previously worked as a baker, in customer service, and as an English teacher in South Korea.
