Ethical issues: managing clients expectations, assessing objectively the merits of the case, assessing one’s qualifications
Research, documentation, collaboration
Ethical issues: knowing your limitations, mentor-co-counsel, privacy of the client
The case – introduction, assessment, suggested supporting documents
Ethical issues: asking the right questions, honesty and candour with client, conflict of interest (dual representation), managing client’s expectations, knowing related issues
Preparation of the case, submission, other applications, if required
Ethical issues: following the rules and the spirit of the law; advocacy vs. overselling
