Description
Canada is implementing an ambitious world-wide system to obtain photos and fingerprints from almost every applicant for temporary and permanent residence, to be phased in this year and next.
There are several exceptions, and it will be important for practitioners to know the exceptions and legal means to have the requirement waived for clients where this is not possible or feasible. This seminar examines the logistical details of the biometrics system, the new practical realities for our clients, and ways to troubleshoot problems that might arise.
Like the eTA system, the vast majority of applicants will likely sail through these new requirements smoothly without issues; but a small minority may face difficulties with this requirement and need professional help. This seminar aims to help practitioners stay ahead of the curve by distilling the more technical details of the system as currently found in numerous government sources, and present a coherent overview of the new reality we will all be facing with our clients.
